Dynamic Women and Their Need For Sleep…

Today’s dynamic woman is involved in all aspects of modern society – be it social or commercial. And make no mistake about it – she is more than able to cope with the challenges that confront her. Read or listen to the news on any given day and it can be taken for granted that women are a major force in defining the course of world events.

So let’s say that you are one of these dynamic women. Oh, okay, maybe you’re not at the stage yet where global empires rise and fall at your whim, there is however, no doubt an empire within your gravity pull that is subject to your care and control. One that would suffer a little without it. Knowing the responsibilities that weigh upon your shoulders it behooves (yes, I said – behooves) … you to take the best care of yourself that’s possible.

This includes of course, eating well and getting private time for either healthy exercise or relaxation. Unfortunately, with so many pressing matters it is often our rest that gets short shifted. Too often we stay up a little too late or get up early to get that added bit of work accomplished. We start to rely on our back up generators and a ton of coffee to keep us going.

While there are times where we have no other options, we nonetheless need to be aware of the fact that over too many such times we will sooner or later ‘burn out’ and find that once we’re stalled – catching up becomes impossible.

Dynamic women need their rest too. There’s no shame in admitting it. And by admitting it you take the first step in organizing your schedule to get it.

Next, take an honest look at what needs to be accomplished in your daily routine. Can anything be delegated to someone else to allow you an extra hour for your down time at the end of the day? Can you afford a take out meal or a simplified meal that requires little or no clean up? Does carpooling or taking public transport allow you time to handle some pesky paperwork? Can you eliminate an activity that someone has coerced you and your good nature into and that really doesn’t imping on your ultimate happiness?

These are some of the areas to examine. Your goal is to eventually block out the time you need for good rest and sleep. You need this to feel and look your best and to give your best to the things that really matter in your life.

Now, once you make this one of your priorities the next step is to ensure the best sleep possible. Not always easy given the stress that follows us around. In a subsequent article we will focus on how we can tackle the issues that may be keeping us awake.
